Make the most of your time

Whether you're running your own shop or buying for a larger retailer, your time has a cost. Autumn Fair puts hundreds of suppliers in one place so you can make faster decisions and get back to it.

Instead of weeks of back-and-forth email, sample requests, and chasing decisions, you can see the products, meet the people behind them, and make a call.

What one day can do

Walk entire categories in a morning

See everything relevant to your range without splitting it across multiple trips or trade shows.

Compare before you commit

Suppliers are side by side. You can ask the same questions, compare the quality, and weigh up terms on the spot.

Leave with orders placed

Most buyers come with a list. They leave with orders placed, new suppliers lined up, and a clearer picture of where their range is heading into peak season.

  • "It's very important for Scribbler, and especially a gift buyer, to attend Autumn Fair. The vast majority of our suppliers exhibit here. It's also exciting to see what's new, follow up on the trends and to see what's coming up. It's an event that you can't miss, the biggest event of the year."
    Laura Simonyte, Buyer, Scribbler
  • "We've been coming for years and we'd definitely recommend it. It's brilliant for spotting trends. You see themes emerging from supplier to supplier and think, that's going to be big. We run shops in different areas so we're not competing, which means we can buy together or split quantities on high minimum orders."
Ellie Mills & Lindsey Scott-Walker, Owners of The Flying Fox and Father Robins

How to prepare

Knowing who you want to see before you arrive means you spend the day making decisions, not working out where to go next.

When you register, you can request a free copy of the Little Black Book, our pre-show guide. It lists every supplier exhibiting and gives you a feel for the agenda, so you can plan your time before you set foot in the NEC.

Check out the attendee hub, where you can find tips and tricks on how to make your visit a successful and stress free one.

See before you source

Access our full exhibitor list online where you can filter and search to create a shortlist of who you'd like to meet ahead of time, so you're not working it out on the floor. A few questions worth asking yourself beforehand:

  • What's not selling and needs replacing before peak?
  • Where are you losing margin, and could you source better?
  • Which gaps in your range have been sitting there too long?

You don't need all the answers before you walk in. But having the questions means you'll recognise the right supplier when you find them.

Invite a colleague

If you can't give Autumn Fair a full day, split the show between you and a colleague. If you work in a team, send them to shortlist suppliers while you write orders elsewhere. If you're a sole trader, consider going with another retailer you trust. You don't compete on the same customers, so you can cover more ground together, compare notes, and even split quantities on high minimum orders.

Four days at Autumn Fair means you don't have to do it all yourself, and you don't have to do it all at once.

What you'll learn

The show isn't just a sourcing trip. The content programme runs across all four days, covering buying strategy, trend forecasting and retail performance. If you want to know where spend is shifting and what other buyers are prioritising heading into peak, it's worth building a session or two into your day.
