Battle Balm
)
A balm designed specifically to target areas of injured skin such as scrapes, cuts, burns and scars.
How does it work?
The wound balm contains a blend of tallow and natural oils infused with organic chamomile to:
- Soothe the skin and help reduce inflammation
- Help promote skin regeneration and repair
- Aids protection of the wound whilst keeping the area hydrated
But how does it really work?
Here is how each ingredients works:
Tallow
Beef tallow is rich in nutrients. Vitamins A and K in tallow help speed up skin regeneration, with Vitamin A promoting cell renewal and Vitamin K supporting skin repair. Tallow also creates a protective barrier, preventing infection and keeping the wound moist. Together, this deep hydration and nutrient rich profile help to minimise scarring and promote faster healing.Tallow's natural makeup is very similiar to our own DNA and thus it absorbs into the skin very quickly.
Jojoba oil
Jojoba oil is kind of a superstar when it comes to gentle, natural skin healing — especially for wounds. Even though it’s called an "oil," it’s actually a liquid wax ester that closely mimics human sebum (our skin’s natural oil). This means it is very easy for our skin to absorb and helps to regulate the skin moisture. It is also naturally rich in compounds like iodine, vitamin E, and fatty acids that reduce inflammation and protect against infection.
Black seed oil
Black seed oil has been used for centuries in traditional medicine due to its powerful healing abilities. It contains thymoquinone, a bioactive compound with strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This helps reduce swelling, redness, and pain around wounds. It also encourages faster tissue regeneration by boosting collagen production and improving fibroblast activity (the cells that rebuild skin) due to omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
Rose hip oil
Rose hip oil is a scar healing powerhouse. It contains vitamin A which boosts cell turnover and promotes collagen production, helping to rebuild damaged skin and minimise scars.
It also contains vitamin C, which supports collagen synthesis and brightens skin tone — key for fading discolouration after a wound has healed.
Chamomile
Chamomile has been trusted for centuries to calm the skin and accelerate healing. It contains compounds like azulene, chamazulene, and bisabolol that help reduce swelling, redness, and irritation. Chamomile also helps to stimulate granulation tissue formation (basically, fresh new tissue) and supports epithelialisation — the process where new skin covers a wound.
