Kate Chesters Art Press Release23 Jul 2019 Kate Chesters Art
At the end of 2018 Kate tweeted Theo about her art business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his 500,000 Twitter followers. The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 2500 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.
Kate Chesters said, “I run my business from a small unit in Liverpool by myself, so it’s been amazing to have support from Theo and the other SBS winners. Each year Theo hosts a large business event in Birmingham, which is free for SBS winners to attend. This year there was a speaker from Google, and Scottish billionaire Sir Tom Hunter. I would have never had the chance to hear advice from these people if it wasn’t for the SBS initiative. It’s great that Theo wants to support small businesses like my own.”
Fusing home decor with contemporary art, Kate decorates chopping boards and placemat sets with resin, creating beautiful and abstract designs. Inspired by nature, her work is remniscent of frothing oceans and swirling rapids.
Kate studied Fine Art at Liverpool Hope University to Masters level from 2010-2014 and has since gone on to have international sales, including sales to Asia, Australia, and over 39 states in the USA. Her work has been featured in British Vogue three times to date, local newspapers, and on several influential blogs and social media channels with over 6 million followers.
Small business champion and Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman, Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK. My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Kate Chesters every success.”
Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re‐tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS networking event and take advantage of the networking opportunities.
Kate sells her chopping boards and placemats on her website, Etsy and Amazon. For further information find Kate Chesters Art at:
